Cambex Announces IBM AIX Version 5.1 and 5.2 Support for its FibreQuik Family of Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters

Cambex is the Only Independent Vendor to Deliver the Latest AIX Operating System Support for its Fibre Channel HBAs

Waltham, MA – March 25, 2003 - Cambex Corporation (OTCBB:CBEX), a 34-year supplier of memory and storage solutions, today announced support for IBM’s AIX 5L operating system. Software drivers are available for both AIX 5 Version 5.1 and 5.2. This important milestone makes Cambex the only independent HBA vendor to offer AIX 5 support, enabling Fibre Channel storage connectivity for all IBM RS/6000 and eServer pSeries computing platforms.

The AIX operating system runs across the entire range of eServer pSeries and RS/6000 systems, from entry-level servers and workstations to powerful supercomputers. The latest version of AIX, AIX 5 is an open UNIX operating environment from IBM designed to meet the increasing complexity of Internet activity from network traffic to security to requests for files to e-business applications.

AIX 5 is fully integrated to support the concurrent operation of 32- and 64-bit applications with key internet technologies such as Java included as part of the base operating system. It is also designed to allow popular applications developed on Linux to run on AIX with a simple recompilation. IBM ranks first in worldwide high-end server market share according to a recent survey by market research group IDC.

“By becoming the first and only independent HBA vendor to support AIX 5.1 and 5.2, Cambex further extends its technology leadership in providing Fibre Channel connectivity for IBM servers,” said Joseph F. Kruy, CEO of Cambex. “Our commitment to quickly support the latest operating system revisions along with our unique high-availability software solutions allow us to offer our customers the most robust AIX storage connectivity solution in the industry,” Kruy stated.

Cambex’s FibreQuik Fibre Channel HBAs provide superior performance and availability for building mission-critical, heterogeneous Storage Area Networks in IBM AIX, Linux, and Windows environments. The Company’s Dynamic Path Failover (DPF) software provides full data path redundancy for superior data availability, delivers load balancing capabilities, and operates in active-active mode to deliver up to 800 MB/sec data transfer rates when accessing storage in a SAN environment. Cambex has qualified its DPF software for AIX with many of the disk storage offerings from Hewlett-Packard, StorageTek, Fujitsu, XIOtech, LSI Logic, and MTI Technology, among others.

Cambex and its Super PC Memory, Inc. subsidiary have been supplying high-performance, high-availability memory and storage solutions for over 34 years for a wide variety of applications. Fibre Channel products include FibreQuik™ Host Bus Adapters and Dynamic Path Failover™ software. Memory products include upgrades for IBM, Intel, Sun, HP, Dell and Cisco computing systems and networking devices.
