LEGATO Systems Qualifies Cambex Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters for Use with NetWorker® Storage Management Software

WESTBOROUGH, MA – August 18, 2003 – Cambex Corporation (OTCBB:CBEX), a leading supplier of memory and storage solutions, announced today that that LEGATO Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:LGTO) has qualified the Cambex FibreQuikTM PC1000 Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for use with LEGATO NetWorker® information protection software.

LEGATO's testing demonstrated compatibility between NetWorker and Cambex’s PC1000 HBAs operating in IBM AIX and Windows NT environments.

NetWorker delivers the information protection capabilities and management consistency needed to provide complete, reliable protection of business-critical applications across UNIX, Windows, Linux and NetWare systems. Advanced indexing, high-speed parallelism, backup to disk, serverless backup and dynamic tape drive sharing are among key components that allow companies to fully protect storage assets and minimize downtime.

“Since LEGATO NetWorker software is installed in many enterprise data centers worldwide, qualification of our FibreQuik HBAs ensures that our products can be seamlessly installed in these storage networking environments,” said Joseph F. Kruy, Chairman and CEO of Cambex. “We are committed to continuing our qualification work with LEGATO to ensure that future generations of our Fibre Channel HBAs can provide cost-effective connectivity solutions for our joint customers.”

“LEGATO delivers fully interoperable, heterogeneous solutions that support the entire information life cycle,” said Vicki Grey, vice president, Information Protection Business Group, LEGATO Systems. “By working with Cambex, we help our joint customers reduce overhead and improve performance in AIX and Windows storage area network environments.”

The FibreQuik PC1000 PCI-to-Fibre Channel HBAs provide superior performance and availability for building mission-critical, heterogeneous Storage Area Networks in IBM AIX, Linux, and Windows environments. Cambex HBAs support all Fibre Channel topologies with performance optimization for both disk and tape applications. Cambex host-based Dynamic Path FailoverTM software provides full data path redundancy for superior availability, load balancing, and active-active operation delivering up to twice the performance.
